Jin Xing has had a fascinating career – Starting as a soldier, becoming a dancer, and a celebrated talk show host in China with 30 million online followers. Her TV shows draw an audience of up to 150 million.
Starting as a male, entered the army and became a highly decorated officer.
She has lived two genders, became a dancer, and choreographer. She founded the independent Jin Xing Dance Theatre in Shanghai in 2012. This is untypical for China, a sole private initiative. She still subsidizes the box office income with the money she is making as a TV host.
She adopted and raised three children.
Lord Tony Hall, Director-General of the BBC, interviewed her at the World Economic Forum 2020 in Davos. Watch and enjoy her sassy and straight forward talk in the video below.
